Kids Share Workshops has a unifying goal, to connect children around the world through writing, art, photography and cultural exchange, resulting in the co-creation of a Kids Share Global Book!

Kids Share: Nicaraguan and Vermont Workshop (Part 1) and Kids Share: Tibetan and Vermont Workshop (Final)

Mission

Kids Share Workshops strives, through literacy and the visual arts, to create a unique cross-cultural environment in which children of all ages, abilities, and experience can feel free to imagine, create, and welcome the arts into their lives. We connect children in Vermont to children living in other cultures. We do this by teaming up with Vermont classrooms who are excited to co-create a Kids Share Global Book with another culture. We believe children of the world can learn how to be better global citizens by experiencing the power of co-creating and learning of one another through art and writing. Kids Share Workshops also provides exciting volunteer experiences and a global environment that is challenging, rewarding, creative, and respectful of ideas and individuals.

Books

Kids Share Global Books are co-created with Vermont students and children living in other countries. At the end of each school year Kids Share Books include their thought-filled narratives and illustrations. Classrooms have the opportunity to contact one another creating lasting cross-cultural, international friendships.

Through the creation and publishing of Kids Share Global Books we hope to raise awareness of other cultures, issues in America concerning children and each child's own environment. You can find our NEW Kids Share Book in Montpelier, Vermont's Kellogg Hubbard Public Library, Northfield, Vermont’s Brown Public Library and Union Elementary School's Library in Montpelier, Vermont. Please contact us if you wish to have a book in your public library!  Please preview: Our first Kids Share Book here!

Student Fundraising

At Kids Share Workshops we feel that we have a unique fundraising option to offer students and schools. The Vermont students who participate in our workshop are encouraged to see their Kids Share Book as a way to raise money for something they feel is important. We give 30% directly to student fundraising and 20% to the village we co-create with! Kids Share Student fundraising starts at the beginning of each school year and ends April 15th. Our Kids Share Books are a powerful way to share children's dreams and ideas worldwide! Our fundraising book drive could help your organization or educational institution raise much needed funds. We are developing a power way to help everyone through the creation of our Kids Share Global Books and Superhero T-Shirts!

Our Future Goals

Our future goal is to successfully travel abroad each school year to teach our global workshop, so that we may personally reach the children we wish to co-create with. Another future goal would be to offer Kids Share Workshops throughout the US. If you are interested in opening up a chapter in your state, please contact us and help build this dream! The more kids we can connect here in the US with children living around the world, the brighter our future will be!

Kids Share Workshops celebrates all children of any race, gender, color, religion, national or ethnic origin, and does not discriminate. We believe all children are a gift and a reason to celebrate!
