Program Director & Founder-Kids Share Workshops

Kristina Applegate Lutes is the program director and founder with Kids Share Workshops (KSW). Kristina is working to develop kids cross-cultural workshops with states in the United States and countries in Latin America.

Before the founding of Kids Share Workshops, Kristina was an adventure camp counselor and computer and art instructor to troubled teens. She began her professional journey as an artist and designer in 1992 with Scholastic Publishing in NYC. Later, she moved to Colorado where she created Oryx Mountain Studios; ABC endangered and threatened animal greeting card company, selling in zoos and major chain stores throughout the US. Today Kristina is a freelance illustrator who recently completed a Passover book for Cokie & Steve Roberts, published by Harper Collins. She is working hard to share her international teaching experience with children living in the US and Central America through cross-cultural workshops. Kristina’s goal is to focus on rural community’s and urban schools by empowering youth to proudly share their lives and heritage in the Americas. Her visit’s to Nicaragua and Guatemala’s coffee communities has developed a strong passion to support the future of kids living in Latin America.
