2011 Volunteer Training & Site Investigation

Kristina Applegate Lutes, Founder & Program Director; was granted all travel expenses paid to train volunteer teachers in Portland, Oregon and a site investigation in Costa Rica, through Partners of the Americas, for an upcoming 2012 Kids Share: Costa Rica & Oregon Workshop.

Kids Share Workshops and Kristina could not continue with a strong cross-cultural workshop, without the support of organizations like Partners of the Americas.

Private Donation: March, 2010 a private donation of $1,000 was given to Kids Share Workshops, Inc. for the publishing and printing of its 2010 Kids Share: Nicaraguan & Vermont Children's Narratives. Kristina A. Lutes, Founder will be returning to Nicaragua May 18th, 2010 to hopefully bring the co-created books and posters to the children of El Roblar. Matt Dec at A Creative Difference, created our first Kids Share Commercial! Matt gave countless hours in the creation of our first online commercial. We are grateful for Matt's extraordinary talent and generosity. (Matt and Kristina attended Elementary thru High School together! You should see how cute they were!) Larry Brown owner of L.Brown & Sons Printing, Inc. in Barre, Vermont generously donated 250 posters of Ash & Spiderman, created by Kristina Applegate Lutes in 2008. Over $1,500 was raised to support Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Currently, Kids Share Workshops is working to team up with L.Brown & Sons Printing for the new 09-10 production of a Kids Share Book, brochures and any other printing needs Kids Share Workshops may have. The Drawing Board has generously donated art supplies to be shipped to the Tibetan SOS Children's Village! With these art supplies the Tibetan children who want to participate in our Kids Share workshops will be able to paint what they have expressed in their narratives. Their paintings and narratives will be shared with children in America through our Kids Share Tibetan and Vermont Children's Narratives. Our journey is complete thanks to Ray and Jody Brown, owners of The Drawing Board. 2/09 UPDATE! Many thanks to the Drawing board; Jody Brown for her generous donation of mounting and sealing the children's artwork! All artwork created in the classrooms stays for the children to enjoy!

INDIVIDUAL DONATION: Our first and very special individual donation was made for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy by a Tibetan Monk, who is currently visiting here in Vermont. He was inspired to help because of Ash Brittenham. He wishes us luck as we embark on this exciting adventure! Many thanks for his generosity and blessing for a cure! 100% of the donation will go towards Ash and a special desk lamp he has requested.

Green Mountain Camera: Robert Ste. Marie, owner of GMC has generously donated 20 recyclable cameras that we'll send to the the Tibetan SOS Children's Village in Bylakuppe, India. These cameras will be returned to us full of photos of life in an orphanage village. We'll be able to share their lives through these initial photos with the school children we're working with here in the States. Kristina Applegate Lutes, founder of PFC, was especially grateful for this fortunate contribution of cameras because she was concerned that this part of the project would need to be postponed.
